Twenty-something Karisma who started her tinsel trek at 17 opposite South Indian actor Harish with Prem Qaidi has avoided romantic liaisons with her co-stars (except for stray rumours that linked her with Ajay Devgan) and gracefully maintained silence about her broken engagement with Abhishek Bachchan. I dont like talking about that chapter in my life. Its closed, she says firmly.

The radiance in her voice is obvious when you quiz her about Sunjay. Our families have been friends for years. We knew each other since childhood. My mom and Sunjays mom are best friends. Sunjays sister Mandira is also a close friend of mine. As for Sunjay, hes a nice, down-to-earth and reserved person. Weve always got along well and Im lucky to have him in my life, touch wood, she says.

After marriage, Karisma might be moving into Sunjays Vasant Vihar home but she has no intentions of quitting her career as an actress. I enjoy acting and I dont want to give it up entirely. Karishma (her daily soap on Sahara Manoranjan) will require some more time and once I am settled may be Ill do films too, provided the roles are good enough. After being part of the film industry for over 12 years I dont want to get into the glamour mode again, she quips.

Whether she returns to films after marriage or whether she settles down as a stay-home socialite is something we can only speculate about. For now, Bollywoods blue-eyed girl is ready for her real life miracle.
