Daughter Riddhima
About his children, Ranbir and Ridhima, Kapoor states that his 19-year-old son may join the film industry. "My son was named after my father, whose name was Ranbir Raj Kapoor. Ranbir is undergoing training for acting. He is taking diction and dancing classes. He is also working on his body. He may do a bit of theatre before facing the camera. I suppose he will be ready to act in a couple of years."
Rishi agrees his nieces Karisma and Kareena are doing very well. "But Ridhima is not interested in an acting career. Both my children have studied abroad. Ridhima has done a course in fashion designing. She can look for a job now if she so wants." The veteran, who received only one Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Raj Kapoor's Bobby), turns 50 this September. "But I will not celebrate my birthday this year. I wouldn't want people to know," he chortles.

GENERATION NEXT...IT'S KAPOOR AGAIN???
There is something about Kapoor lineage. Every Kapoor has a sacrosanct relationship with films in one-way or another. Latest to the addition is Ranbir Kapoor. He is the apple of the eyes of Nitu and Rishi Kapoor. The strapping 20-year-old the replica of his mom - the yesteryears' bubbly actress Neetu Singh - has consciously kept away from the onscreen razzmatazz of the tinsel world. Being a part of the Kapoor Khandaan has rubbed off on him also but not because he wants to be an actor but `coz he wants to make a mark behind the camera. For if there's one thing that interests young Ranbir it's the process of filmmaking and that explains his two-year stint at learning direction at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. Ranbir admits to being "clueless about acting as yet" but if he does plan to face then arclights ever, rest assured his entire family - everyone ranging from grand uncles Shammi and Shashi, to uncles Randhir and Rajiv, papa Rishi and extended `family' uncles such as Rakesh Roshan, Jeetendra, Boney, Anil and Tutu Sharma, would be ready with scripts to do the needful.

RISHI KAPOOR
Rishi born 4th sep 1952
My favourite hero rishi kapoor so sweet and so cute
Rishi Kapoor, pet named Chintu, second son of Raj Kapoor
Raj with his son Rishi born on 4th September 1952, the year that Raj Kapoor first went to USA to attend the Indian Film Festival.
I recall a story which my father Prithviraj Kapoor always narrated of an itinerant drum beater who used to balance a long pole on his shoulder and make his son climb to the top of the pole. While performing his road side acrobatics the son would ask his father,"Bapu, how was my performance?" The father would always reply: "Kasar rahi kasar rahi"[Could be better]. One day the son asked his father,"I perform so well, people are so happy to see me, but you are never satisfied. What is lacking in me, after all?" The father replied:"The day you excel on the pole and achieve everything in life, and I do not say kasar rahi, you will fall down. That is why I will always say kasar rahi!"
Today my son Rishi has got the Best Actor award. It is wonderful to see Chintoo(Rishi) get the National Award for his performance in my film "Mera Naam Joker". What could make a father happier than to see in his lifetime his son's progress and success? He has the blessings and the love of the masses, but I will still say kasar rahi, kasar rahi".

Kapoor Obsession
IT SEEMS movie-makers are chasing him and so are the gals! Papa Rishi Kapoor and mamma Neetu must be concerned about their ladla beta Ranbir being hounded by the Press.
The smart, young Kapoor is doing a course in acting in New York. Girls surrounding Ranbir is quite understandable, but why are the paparazzi hovering around someone who has turned down acting offers for the next two years?
However sister Riddhima, has decided to take the plunge, but hasn't yet formally announced it to the Bollywood filmwallahs. Now isn't this sheer Kapoor magic, even if it is with the fourth generation?
